Light and Electric is a management consulting firm supplying expert advice and custom development services to businesses and their partners.  Our efforts center on the intersection of business communications and web technologies, such as social business, mashups and  open source software.  Unlike traditional management consulting firms, our advice comes from our real world experience solving businesses communications problems. Our approach is holistic: our business insight drives our technical solutions, and our technical competence uncovers new business opportunities. Above all, we seek to be a trusted advisor, providing both business and technology views that are valuable, unique and radically unbiased.

Light and Electric was founded by Thomas Howe, a seasoned communications developer and executive. Our efforts have won numerous awards, including the O’Reilly Telephone Mashup competition, the first Broadsoft Mashup Contest and the only consulting firm to win the coveted VON Innovator’s Award. Our clients come in all shapes and sizes, from incumbent carriers, to entrepreneurial health care providers, and from the largest investment banks in the world to charities dedicated to helping the poor in the developing world.  We maintain close relationships with major API providers, thought leaders and emerging technologies, helping our customers understand their options, and helping our partners understand our customer’s needs. We give back to our industry and participate in the active development community by supporting open source efforts through custom development and expert training.
